National Museum's anniversary celebrations
The National Museum of Singapore is running its 139th anniversary celebrations, called Stories of Everyday, from 10 to 18 October. Sunday 18 October is the last day. The programme runs from 10am to 7pm, with a mix of drop-in activities and performances.
Some programmes need registration or a deposit, so the "free" label does not apply to every session. Read the details of each activity on the museum's programme page before you plan around it.
The anniversary coincides with the reopening of the Singapore History Gallery. The gallery was free to everyone from 10 to 12 October, so that window has passed. Check the museum's ticket page for current admission rules. Singapore Citizens, PRs and children under 6 get free entry to the permanent galleries. We have a separate guide to the gallery itself.
Catch.sg for arts and performances
If you want theatre, dance, music or exhibitions, Catch.sg is the National Arts Council's official events calendar. The listing page was updated on 14 October. Use its filters instead of relying on a roundup that may have gone out of date.
Eligible Singapore Citizens aged 18 and above can use SG Culture Pass credits on approved arts and heritage programmes. Approval is per programme, not per venue, so check the specific listing before you assume it applies.
Night events
Halloween Horror Nights 14
Halloween Horror Nights 14 is on selected nights at Universal Studios Singapore until 1 November 2026. This year's line-up has four haunted houses, two scare zones and three shows. Entry starts from 7.30pm, and it needs its own dated ticket. Your regular day ticket does not cover it.
Because it runs on selected nights, do not assume that Friday, Saturday and Sunday are all open. Check the calendar and ticket availability on the Resorts World Sentosa website before you commit. Our Halloween comparison guide covers how it stacks up against the alternatives.
Haw Ror Villa
Haw Ror Villa runs on selected nights until 15 November 2026. The official listing carries an advisory for adult content, so treat it as an event for older teens and adults, and check the listing for the exact age guidance. Confirm the session you want and the ticket price on the official site.
Family options
Halloween at Curiosity Cove
Halloween at Curiosity Cove runs from 3 October to 2 November, on Fridays to Sundays. It is an indoor option, and children are encouraged to come in costume. Confirm age range, session prices and availability on the booking page, because family sessions with limited places tend to fill first.
Other options for children
Weekend roundups also list community and mall Halloween events, some of them free. Treat these as leads, not confirmed plans. Many one-day events end before the weekend does, so check the venue's own page for the date and time.
Pop culture and fan events
Suntec Singapore lists several events for the weekend. HallyuCon is listed for 18 October. Hatcheed and Makers Quest are listed for 17 and 18 October. Entry terms, ticket types and opening hours are set by each organiser, so check the organiser's page and not just the venue's.
Singapore EXPO's calendar shows the Asia Cat Expo from 16 to 18 October. It also lists a Labubu pop-up running from 17 October to 1 November. Because the pop-up runs for more than two weeks, you do not need to rush for this weekend.
Weekend roundups also list a Japan Rail Fair. The research did not confirm its venue or admission terms, so check the organiser before you plan around it.
Planning around weather and haze
Several of the options above are only partly covered. Halloween Horror Nights has outdoor scare zones, and Haw Ror Villa is largely outdoors. If the forecast is poor, shift to the museum, Suntec, EXPO or Curiosity Cove.
Haze from forest fires in Indonesia was reported in early October. If air quality is a concern for you, check the NEA's PSI readings before heading to an outdoor event. We have not verified specific haze-related event cancellations, so look for announcements on the organiser's page.
Getting there
All the venues above are reachable by MRT or a short transfer. If you are heading home after Halloween Horror Nights or Haw Ror Villa, check the last train and bus times for your line on the LTA site or your operator's app. Normal service hours apply unless an extension has been announced.
Before you go: a checklist
- Confirm the event is still running on its official page.
- Check whether it is free, free with registration, or paid.
- Look for age limits or advisories, especially for night events.
- Note the last entry time, which is often earlier than closing time.
- Check the bag, costume or re-entry rules.
- Have an indoor backup in mind.
